This cross-cutting theme aims to facilitate collaborative research to improve social care policy, quality, and effectiveness. In doing so, it will support the conditions for evidence-based commissioning decisions and organisational practices proposing new models to test regionally before scaling practice for wider benefit.
There is record demand for social care services, and the burden on unpaid carers is growing. We want to help people remain healthy, happy and independent for as long as possible, to reduce the need for formal support.
Our research helps better understand how social care systems can plan and deliver care services for people now and in future. We are based in North West London and focus on policy, planning and delivery through collaborative research with an emphasis on how care is funded and organised.
