Patient and Public Involvement (PPI)

Confidentiality

The nature of research is that it is often competitive and/or commercially sensitive.  This necessitates the need for confidentiality, unless otherwise stated.

This means that information related to the project (and ARC TV more generally) should not be discussed with others not involved in the activity unless it is agreed.  This is also the case for information shared by Public Contributors.

This means you cannot discuss or share content outside of activities, tasks or meetings and documents cannot be shared.  If there is something you would like to discuss or share, please ask the Public Involvement Manager/Co-ordinator for guidance.

This means:

  • Due to the nature of research and its potential to be confidential, the content of LEAP meetings and activities will be confidential.
  • All information must be treated with strict confidence both during the term of involvement as well as after the term ends.
  • Members must not remove, destroy, share or discuss any confidential information inappropriately unless specifically requested to do so.

The ARC TV will keep Governance Public Contributors personal information secure and confidential at all times and their personal data will be restricted to ARC TV staff; and finance staff who are required to process payment and expenses claims and/or organise meetings/activities.
